Russian PM Mishustin to Meet Iranian President Pezeshkian on Monday
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit Iran on Monday and meet Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Russian government said on Sunday.
"Special attention" will be paid to implementation of large-scale joint projects in the sphere of transport, energy, industry, agriculture and other areas, it said in a statement.

Australia Revises Down Commodity Revenue Forecasts as Prices Trend Lower
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia slightly revised down its forecasts for resource and energy export earnings on Monday as lower prices across a broad range of commodities and a stronger currency continued to pressure a key source of government revenue.
Australia now expects commodity export earnings to fall about 10% to A$372 billion ($256 billion) for the year ended 30 June 2025, down from a forecast of A$380 billion made in June, according to the official resources and energy quarterly. Revenues hit A$415 billion last year.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) -Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi sought to burnish his country's credentials as a global peacemaker at the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday, calling for a cessation of fighting in the Middle East and touting Beijing's diplomatic efforts on Russia's war in Ukraine.
Wang spoke after Israel killed the leader of Iran-aligned Hezbollah with a massive airstrike in Beirut on Friday, raising fears of a wider regional war in addition to the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza that began nearly a year ago.

EU to Vote on Oct 4 to Finalize Tariffs for China-Made EVs, Bloomberg News Reports
The European Union is planning to vote on whether to introduce tariffs as high as 45% on imported electric vehicles made in China on Oct. 4, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Member states have received a draft of the regulation for the proposed measures, the report said, adding that the new date could still change.

US-Mexico Rail Delays Hit Farm Sector Ahead of Possible Ports Strike
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Rail backlogs are disrupting export trade between the United States and Mexico and snarling agricultural supply chains as the fall harvest is under way, agriculture groups said on Friday.
A potential East and Gulf Coast port strike that could begin on Tuesday would exacerbate the problems, nearly 200 agriculture groups said in a letter sent to the White House on Friday.

White House Urges Union, Employers to Negotiate Quickly for New Ports Contract
The Biden administration is urging the union and employers to negotiate in good faith and quickly reach a new contract deal ahead of a potential Tuesday strike at ports on the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, a White House official said on Friday.
The affected ports stretch from Maine to Texas and handle more than half of U.S. waterborne trade. A shutdown could cost the economy $5 billion daily, according to a JPMorgan analysis.

Chinese Automaker BYD Seeks Further Easing of Mexico EV Tariffs
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Chinese automaker BYD is seeking an extension of tariff relief for electric vehicle imports from Mexico's government, an executive told newspaper Reforma in an interview published on Friday, as the company aims to build a plant in the country.
A decree exempting some 15% to 20% of tariff payments on EVs imported from countries with which Mexico does not have a trade agreement is set to expire at the end of the month, as President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador leaves office.
